Favorite Bookish Couples

I’ve seen other people do this before and it looked like fun, so I thought I’d give it a try. So here we are.

My Top Five Bookish Couples.

1. Cath and Levi from Fangirl  by Rainbow Rowell:

Excuse me while I fangirl for a little bit. 😉  Cath and Levi are such an adorable couple, actually they are part of the reason why I started reading more YA lit.  I related to Cat on so many levels, being introverted, having social anxiety, all of this made me love her. And then Levi. *sigh* He’s just so sweet and he listens so well.  I just love how sweet and simple this couple is.

2. Anne and Captain Wentworth from Persuasion by Jane Austen:

I had to have one Jane Austen on this list. 😀  So I like to pretend like I’m not a romantic person, but I really am at heart and the fact that Anne and Wentworth make this list proves it. What I love best about this couple is the fact that they loved each other for 8 years before they got together.  They loved each other despite the fact they didn’t see each other, and the fact that Anne refuses his first proposal.  That’s pretty amazing.

3. Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:

Yes, I’m team Peeta. Sorrynotsorry.  The sacrificial love between these two is amazing. Both would rather die than see the other come to any harm.  I think every relationship needs a bit of this.

4. Anne and Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery:

Best romantic series ever! I am and always will be a big fan of Anne of Green Gables. Her imagination, her delight for life, everything makes Anne one of my number one heroes. And Gilbert, poor Gil. He got off to a bad start, but through all of Anne’s anger he kept trying to be her friend.  I think the number one thing I love about this couple is their friendship.

5. Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell:

Anyone shocked to see this couple on my list? As far as lovers and married people go, Scarlett and Rhett are pretty screwy. But that’s actually what I love about them. They’re real. Rhett’s not a good man but he tries his best, and he honestly loves Scarlett, and he eventually gets tired of being hurt.  His story is real.  Scarlett is selfish and doesn’t see the love that’s right in front of her, instead she loves a daydream, and eventually she realizes how wrong she is.  Her story is real.   And I’ve always thought they would get back together in the end.

So there we have it. Any thoughts on the couples? Do you love them, hate them, more of meh? What are some of your favorites? Let’s fangirl together.
