Of The Apocalypse and Tacos

My goal for this month is to write at least a 100 words every day. So I’ve been trying to start each day out with writing a flash fiction story.  And it’s been going well! I’ve managed to keep every day, so I thought today I’d share one of the stories I’ve written. It’s not perfect, so I’d love to know if anyone has thoughts on how to make it better. Thanks!

She laughed a lot and it made him feel butterflies. The sound of her made him try every day to make her laugh, as much as was possible for the middle of the apocalypse. They sat, eating makeshift tacos made of rabbit meat and some weeds for lettuce, they’d even found real tomatoes from the can. Now they sat next to each other, telling stories and laughing quietly. They could see the stars from the cracks in the house’s ceiling. He made a joke and she laughed, then she laid her head on his shoulder.

“I’m glad I have you.”
