This was originally posted on my Patreon, I post all my writing and sneak peaks on that website first. If you’d like to get access to these posts please consider supporting me. Thanks!
As December comes to a close I’ve found myself looking back at all the writing I’ve done over the year. I’ve had a poem published by Thistle Magazine, I’ve put out a poem for my family and a short story just for fun. I also put out my second poetry collection, A Mad Woman’s Voice, which I am the most proud of.
Then there’s all the writing I haven’t yet published. Together Grant and I wrote 50 short stories. Just in NaNoWriMo events this year I wrote 108,733 words. I’ve wrote around 289 blog posts this year, not counting the posts I’ve written just for Patreon. And as for the rest of the poems and stories and words…I don’t even know how to begin to calculate them. Grant is recommending I start keeping better track. 😉
Reflecting on what I have done has helped me to start making goals for the new year.
1. Have 5 poems published by Literary Magazines.
2. Publish a third poetry collection.
3. Get either a freelance editing job, or be hired by a publishing company.
4. Grow my Patreon supporters to 8 total.
5. Continue to post on my blog at least 4 times a week.
What are your goals for the new year?
