I’ve been thinking about writing this post for awhile, but when it came down to it I just never prepared for it. But then last month I finally did! So here we are. This post is about groceries and menu planning and all that jazz. I’ve found that menu planning and making lists really helps me to keep track of what I have in the house, and what I need at the store. I would love to know what you all do, and if you have any tips or tricks on how to keep to a budget. Hope you all find it interesting!
So first I make a grocery list throughout the week, whenever I run out of something I had it. But mostly I end up making the list the day before I go out to the store, because I’ll make my menu plan at the same time. You can see this week’s list here. Forgive any spelling mistakes, I was running late that week and had to make this list just a few minutes before we left. 😀
And here is the menu plan. Right now I’m trying to cut down on meat and try to make more vegan and vegetarian food. Also you’ll notice that this isn’t just for a week it’s for about 10 days or so. I try to stretch it to 12+ but it just depends on what I do for lunches and leftovers.
So in case you can’t read it, sorry for the weird lighting, the menu for this week is:
- Chickpea Carrot Soup.
- Ethiopian Potatoes.
- Rosemary Chicken Salad.
- Bacon Artichoke Pizza.
- Creamy Goat Cheese Salad.
- Chicken Satay.
- Blackbean,Chicken and Chickpea Salad.
- Mediterranean Stuffed Sweet Potatoes.
- Chicken Roast
The total bill for the grocries was $88.87. I like to keep the bill at $80, so considering that I had to stock up on some things that will last us the entire month (and hopefully longer), and splurged a little, I didn’t do too badly.
