Mid Year Freak Out Tag

I first saw this tag on Kristin Kraves Books’ blog. This tag is aptly named, because I’m definitely freaking out now that I’ve remembered its the middle of the year. So in order to distract myself from the fact that my life is flying away from me, I’m going to go ahead and just get started with the questions. Hope you enjoy this post. 😀

1. Best book I’ve read so far.

I honestly don’t think I have a favorite book so far this year. I’ve read some really good ones, but nothing has really jumped out at me as a stunningly amazing book. My favorite book from this last month of reading thought is Deadly Sweet by Lola Dodge.

2. Best sequel I’ve read so far.

In March I read The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan and really enjoyed it. I’m a big fan of his books and his sequel to the Gods of Asgard series did not disappoint!

3. A new release I haven’t read yet but want to.

My instgram is full of pictures of this book right now and it’s making me just a tad bit jealous! I would love to get my hands on a copy sometime soon.

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.

The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Pirates by Mackenzie Lee is coming out October 2nd and I can not wait to read it!

5. Biggest disappointment.

I heard a lot of hype about this book but wasn’t able to read it until the beginning of this year, and it was a pretty big disappointment for me.

6. Biggest surprise.

After reading the first book in the series and disliking it, I was really surprised when I enjoyed and liked A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas.

7. Favorite new author.

I got the sequel to Caighlan Smith’s series accidentally from NetGalley, but it ended up being a fantastic thing because I love both books! And I’m greatly anticipating anything else she publishes.

8. Newest fictional crush.

This one isn’t new, because I honestly haven’t had a fictional crush in a looooong time. But I did reread this book this year and of course re-fell in love with the characters. Cath, Levi and of course Regan are the best and they should all be in a cute little polyam relationship. 😀

9. Newest favorite character.

I’ve already mentioned this book once in this tag but it’s a great book so I’m going to mention it again. Anise was such a great character, and she bakes so that’s super cool! I’m terrible at baking but this book made wish I was better. 😀

10. A book that made me cry.

Even though I’m a big crier in the every day of my life, it’s really hard for me to get worked up enough to cry over a book. Still this book did bring a lump to my throat with how cute it was.

11. A book that made me happy.

Oh my god this book made me so happy. I was terrified that it was not going to live up to the first book in the series, but it absolutely did and I was definitely grinning.

12. Favorite book to film adaption.

I tend to be very very very wary of book to film adaptions. As in I won’t ever watch them. But I am a big fan of the Game of Thrones adaption to TV. I just finished reading the book series and am now waiting with the rest of the fans for the next season and the next book to come out.

13. Favorite post I’ve done this year.

I did this post back in March, so not that long ago but it is a good one. It’s the Anxiety tag, and I went through and talked all about how my anxiety affects me personally. I’m all for talking about mental health!

14. Most beautiful book I’ve bought this year.

Ahhh! Okay I’m really excited to read this book. I got in last months Owlcrate box, that I was able to get through some saving up, and it’s so freaking beautiful! I love the Owlcrate exclusive covers, and I really wish I could afford to get more of their boxes. But you all should definitely check them out!

15. What book do I need to read by the end of this year.

I have a lot of books that I need to read by the end of 2018, but the next one on my list is Dread Nation by Justina Ireland.

And that’s it for this tag! Thanks for reading. 🙂

    • It’s a cute book! I hope you get the time to read it. 😁
I’m still waiting on my library to say they’re ordering Dread Nation, so I have no idea when I’ll get to it.
      And thanks!
