Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog event hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and today’s topic is about book series! Today I talked mostly about books that I really want to read and continue the series, but there are a couple books on this list that I’d rather not read. Hope you enjoy!
1. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman.
I actually just finished reading Hartman’s off-shoot series Tess of the Road, without realizing that it belonged to a world that had already been created. I loved the book and now I need to go back and read the other series!
2. Given to Earth by Mindy McGinnis.
I know I keep talking about this book but I really need to read it. I’m a big fan of McGinnis and this world is just too cool for me to let go of the series.
3. Razorland Series by Ann Aguire.
I read this series, or at least most of it, many many years ago and really enjoyed the world. I would love to be able to come back to it some day and reread and finish it.
4. The Oz Sreies by L. Frank Baum.
My sisters and I were obsessed with this series for a couple of years, but it’s been so long I’m sure I would have so much fun rereading them and trying to finish the series. But it has like 12+ books so who knows!
5. Eden Conquered by Joelle Charbonneau.
I loved the first book of this duology! So yes I am on my library’s waiting list for Eden Conquered, I hope it lives up because I will be so disappointed if it doesn’t.
6. Eragon by Christopher Paolini.
Again, another series I read as a kid. Actually I’ve only read the first book so I know I’ve missed out on a lot.
7. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
Ugh. This series had so much potential, and I really wanted to finish it. But the first book wasn’t that great and the second book was just god-awful. So I will not be reading anymore of it.
8. Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
This is a dilemma for me, I love love love this series. And I loved where it finished (or so I thought) at book three. And now there’s a fourth book? I really don’t know how to feel about this or if I will be reading any more of it.
9. Caraval by Stephanie Garber.
I keep seeing this series around lately and I just need to vent. I hated the first book so much, it was boring and predictable and the romance was so bad! So yeah I won’t be going within a hundred yards of the second book.
10. Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones.
Meh. This first book had some potential, but overall I didn’t like it. It was weird and the romance seemed abusive to me and the ending didn’t really make sense. Despite the world being pretty cool and the covers being stunning, I don’t think I’ll be reading the second book.
What series are on your TBR? Any of these books that you’re not planning on reading? If you wrote a Top Ten Tuesday post be sure to leave a link so I can hop over to your blog!
I read Shadowsong because I liked the first book well enough. But it was less good. So it goes. My TTT
Aw, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s always disappointing when the sequel doesn’t live up to the first.
I grew up reading all the Oz books and they are my favorites! I don’t know if they would feel dated if you read them now. But I love the stories, the characters, and the illustrations.
They are so great from what I remember! But I definitely want to give them a try and think about adding them to my library for my future kids. 😀
Thanks for stopping by!
