Promoting Creativity – Vanessa Maki

Party in honor of Blaine Cornelius

Today I have the great pleasure of sharing this interview I did with writer and poet Vanessa Maki.  I have worked with her on her magazine Rose Quartz Journal, and I hope you all check it out as well as her chapbooks linked below.

1) Tell us a little bit about what you do.

Aside from the lit journals that I run, I write, take pictures & will soon be diving back into creating other art. I’m also now an interview editor for Tiny Flames Press & a columnist for terse journal.

2) When and why did you start writing?

When I started writing I was younger, definitely my early teens. Writing has quite literally always been an outlet for me. It’s a way of expressing, escaping & release.

3) Tell us about a project that you are currently working on that has you really excited.

I have been bouncing around in terms of big projects. So for now what I will say is whatever I actually follow through will be intense.

4) What are some of your goals for the future?

I’ve got too many goals but one of them is definitely fleshing out the ideas I have.

5) How can we support you?

Support me by supporting my lit journals, reading my work,  purchasing my chapbooks & maybe ‘buy me a coffee.’
