October Reading Wrap Up

Reading Wrap Up.png

October was a pretty good month for me, I read a total of 24 books and am currently 27 books ahead of my goal for the year. I’m really pleased with the diversity of books that I read this month.

1 Star: It’s always a good thing to see this category have less than five books. Overall I’m disappointed that Still Life and Fat Girl on a Plane weren’t better. And I wasn’t really sure what to expect from Glass House.

2 Stars: Four of these books were NetGalley reads, which is disappointing. I had really high hopes for The 100 Healthiest Foods for Kids. Hopefully I can have reviews out for all of these soon.

3 Stars: I read a lot of cookbooks this month, and some of them were pretty good. I really liked Cooking From Scratch because that’s the type of cooking I do the most. Mini Farming was not quite as helpful as I wanted it to be, it was still somehow more about farming for selling produce rather than getting the most out of small spaces. I really wanted to give more stars to Beautiful Music for Ugly Children but I didn’t end up liking the writing style as much.

4 Stars: I really enjoyed all of these books and I can’t wait to review them for you all later. My girlfriend got me hooked on The Protector of the Small series, right now I’m on the third book.  The Undead Girl Gang was a riot. And of course I loved Gaiman’s Norse Mythology.

Sadly I didn’t have any five star books this month, hopefully next month will be better in that respect. What was your reading month like? If you’ve written a wrap-up post be sure to share it with me!
