Weekend Cooking is a Saturday blog meme hosted by Beth Fish Reads.
At the moment I live in a small apartment with my partner of four years, Grant. He’s currently going to grad school for a degree in teaching Language Arts. So when he’s not going to school, he’s assistant teaching at a middle school the area. We don’t see each other as much these days, which has been hard but he only has a term and a half left. On weekends, when we do get to spend quality times together I like to make lots of good food for him. Making food has always been one of the ways I show my affection for people. I try to make huge breakfasts on the weekends with lots of bacon or sausage, sometimes both! 😀
I also try to make big dinners, and this is the meal I made on Saturday evening. I was trying out a new recipe for cooking pork in my crockpot and it went over really well. Both Grant and our girlfriend really liked it. So I thought I’d share it with you all!
The recipe I used is called Slow Cooker Honey Pork Roast, and I found it on pinterest. Which is honestly where I find most of my recipes. Anyway, I defrosted my pork earlier in the day and then popped it into the crockpot. This recipe was really easy and super tasty. I did end up putting it in the oven at the end, but that was because I wanted to melt some more Parmesan on top of it.
I was a little busy that evening with some writing so I didn’t make a huge dinner, I just baked up some potatoes and called it good. 😀 Here are the final results!
What are some of your favorite ways to cook up a pork roast? I’m always looking for new food to make!
