Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I was supposed to have the post up yesterday but I got busy and went on a picnic with my partners instead. 😀 But this week’s topic is audiobooks! I’m really excited about this because I’ve just gotten into listening to them. Audiobooks work really well for me when I’m cross-stitching or doing some other crafting. Anyway, here are 10 audiobooks that I would love to listen to someday soon!
1. Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman
I just recently listened to Gaiman read The Ocean at the end of The Lane and loved it, he is such a good reader and now I just want to listen to him read anything and everything!
2. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
So yes, that’s why I have two books by him on this list, I would have more but then it would just be a list of books by Neil Gaiman. 😀
3. Bloodhound by Tamora Pierce
My girlfriend and I are currently listening to the first book in this series, and I’m really enjoying it. I can’t wait to finish the rest of it.
4. Mastiff by Tamora Pierce
Maybe it’s cheating just a bit to put both of these books on the list, since I’m definitely going to be listening to them soon. But oh well. 😀
5. King Lear by Shakespeare
This is one of the few of Shakespeare’s plays that I haven’t read yet, so I thought it might be fun to listen to it instead.
6. The American by Henry James
I’ve been trying to read this book for years now and I just keep getting distracted and forget about it. So I grabbed the audiobook the other day and I hope that means I’ll finally get through it!
7. Bold Spirit by Linda Lawrence Hunt
This story sounds really fascinating, I stumbled on it in the audiobook section.
8. The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx
I’ve read this book before but I think it would good to listen to it sometime, I think I would catch stuff that I missed before.
9. Daniel Deronda by George Eliot
I love George Eliot even though I’ve only read Middlemarch. So I think my plan next is to get all of her books on audio.
10. Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christi
I love Agatha Christi! And I feel like her mysteries would make for fantastic books to listen to. I’m honestly the most excited about this idea.
What do you think of audiobooks? What are you listening to these days? If you’ve written a Top Ten Tuesday post don’t forget to leave a link to it in the comments. I’d love to get more ideas for audiobooks I should listen to.
