May has been a slower reading month for me. My internship work kept me so busy and I was tired a lot. But I still read 21 books! Please forgive some of the larger book covers, I’m still getting used to wordpress’ new blogging layout, and the image blocks are weird. *sigh* Anyway, hope you enjoy this post!
1 Star: 5 books.
I am so mad about The Heart Forger! Ugh. I really liked the first book, but I could not get into this one. The story was so slow, and the writing style was not my favorite. I had a lot more 1 star reads this month, and I’m hoping next month will be better!
2 Stars: 4 books.
After really enjoying other books by Ursula K. Le Guin I was really excited for her fantasy series, but the first book was hard for me to get into. I want to try it again eventually, but listen to it on audio instead of reading a physical copy.
3 Stars: 7 books.
As always this is my largest category. I really enjoyed reading The Woman in the Window and She Has Her Mother’s Laugh. Both very interesting reads, though both were a little too long. I listened to King Lear on audiobook because I wanted to see if it was an easier way to understand Shakespeare. And while I did get more out of it than just reading the play, I honestly think the best way to ”get” his work is to watch the plays performed.
4 Stars: 3 books.
Hungry For More is my favorite cookbook of the year! It has a lot of really great recipes. I ended up liking Adaption a lot more than I thought I would, but I’m not sure if I’ll read the sequel. And I learned so much from The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs.
5 Stars: 1 book.
I finally read this book! It was so good, and honestly my favorite interpretation of the story of Achilles. So beautifully written. I can’t wait to see what else Miller will write about.

How was your reading in May? If you write a wrap-up post don’t forget to share a link to it! I’d love to see what you’ve read.
