Weekend Cooking is a weekly blog meme hosted by Beth Fish Reads. Today I’m sharing my experience cooking Boeuf Bourguignon for the first time. Until just a little bit ago I had never heard of this recipe, then my cousin did an instagram story following her cooking process of the recipe. It looked so good I had to find out what it was and make it! I’m now in love with it. The flavors are amazing, and even though it does take several hours it’s totally worth it.
I don’t usually buy a lot of red meat, it’s just too spendy. But I will be making an exception for this meal. The bacon combined with the beef was super tasty. Here’s the recipe I used for my guidelines. I did end up making a smaller batch than this recipe suggests.
There were some different additions suggested for the Boeuf Bourguignon, I saw a lot of pasta. But my cousin made potato dish to go with it. I cooked my dish a couple of weeks after I saw her story, so I couldn’t remember exactly how she did it so I kinda just made it up as I went along. I boiled some potatoes, then smashed them, seasoned them with butter, salt and pepper and then baked them till they were nice and crispy.
The end result was so good, and I can’t wait to finish off the leftovers.
