June Reading Wrap Up

Reading Wrap Up (11).jpg

June has been the slowest month so far of the year, which has actually been nice because wow has this year been insane! But my reading for the year has been really great, I’ve enjoyed reading less.  Currently my total for the year is 133 books and I read 23 books this month.

1 Star: I love it when I have so few 1 star reads in a month! Though I am pretty disappointed that I didn’t like Spin the Dawn or The Everlasting Rose.

2 Stars: Usually when I don’t have a lot of 1 star reads I have more 2 star reads, so I’m very pleased that this month I had an equal amount. As you can see I finally finished The American, which I’ve been meaning to do forever. I also read two poetry books this month, both of them were pretty blah though.

3 Stars: Ah yes, as always. I’m sad to say that I didn’t love The Left Hand of Darkness, even though it was the book that started me on Le Guin’s Hannish series. I was also not super happy with Muse of Nightmares, despite loving the first book so much. Sequels are the worst. 😛

4 Stars: I’m pleasantly surprised to have so many 4 star reads this month, I hadn’t realized it was so many. I really loved The Kiss Quoitent, and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to read more of The Wicked + The Divine.

5 Stars: Wow! 2 books! I can’t remember the last time that happened. Going into The Wind’s Twelve Quarters I was a little hesitant, it was the first of Le Guin’s books that I haven’t listened to and it’s a collection of short stories. But man did it blow me away and gave me so much to think about. It’s an amazing book.   And of course Saga was beautiful and heartbreaking like usual.

All in all this was a really great month. I read a lot of great books and I’m excited to see what all I’ll read next month. What did you read this month? If you have a reading wrap-up post be sure to share it with me! Thanks. 🙂
