Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s post is a thankfulness freebie, so I decided to talk about some of the books that I’m thankful to have read over the years. Hope you enjoy!
1. Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg
I will be forever thankful for this book and how it connected me more with my writing. It inspired me like no other writing book had done and now, looking back, it was while reading this book that I committed to writing.
2. The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer
I’m thankful for the inspiration this book has given me and will continue to give me when I read and reread it over the years.
3. Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
I am thankful that I got to read this book and learn more about LGBTQA+ history.
4. Becoming by Michelle Obama
I am thankful for this book and the inspiring woman who wrote it. It’s always good to read a book that gives insight, wisdom and a wonderful role model.
5. We Are The Weather by Jonathan Safran Foer
I am thankful for this book and the tools it gave me to stop feeling so helpless with our current climate emergency.
6. Childhood Disrupted by Donna Jackson Nakazawa
I am thankful for this book and the wake up call it gave me. It gave me a reason to start taking better care of myself and helped to make sense of my anxiety and depression.
7. All Joy And No Fun by Jennifer Senior
I am thankful for this book and what it taught me about parenting and how it opened up communication between me and my partners on having children.
8. Reading Lolita In Tehran by Azar Nafisi
I am thankful for this book and how it captures a love of reading, imagination and stories. This book will always be an inspiration to me for how books can touch lives.
9. White Oleander by Janet Fitch
I’m thankful for this book coming into my life at a time when I needed inspiration. Recently it’s felt like I haven’t been able to read many really really good books, but this book proved that feeling wrong!
10. Prince & Knight by Daniel Haack
I am thankful for this book and how it proves we’re making progress with diversity in all genres and age groups.

I haven’t read any of these, but I am considering putting myself on the library’s giant waitlist for Becoming. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad review of it.
Hope you like it when you’re able to read it! 🙂
I haven’t read any of these yet, but a few are on my tbr!
