Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog posted hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today I’m going to share a few books that I think would make great holiday presents. I divided the up into different age groups and genres, and only ended up doing five today instead of 10. But I’m feeling a little under the weather so I hope you all will forgive me. 😀 Hope you enjoy!
1. Kid’s Lit
Sulwe and Prince & Knight are great books for kids. Both have engaging art styles and a really good message about loving who you are, even if you seem a little different.
2. Middle Grade Books
Lemony Snicket is my go to for middle grade books. All of his stories are so fun, weird and make you think. I remember reading them in high school and getting so much out of his first series.
3. Diverse YA
Part of the reason I love reading YA so much these days is because the genre is really expanding to include diverse narratives. It’s no longer just about vampires and white girls. You can pretty much find a book for anyone, on any part of the queer spectrum. These are some of my favorite books these days.
4. Adult Romance
I have a hard time finding romance books that I enjoy, but this year I actually managed to find a few. You all have heard me talk about these books before, so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. 😀
Ahh yes, cookbooks. There are so many good ones that it was hard to narrow down my choices to just two books. In the end I went with these two. The Bob’s Burgers Burger Book because it’s plain fun to cook with, it has so many unique ideas for burgers. Salt Fat Acid Heat because it goes down to the basics, talks about flavors and how to make your food taste and look the best.
That’s all from me for today! What books are you buy for gifts this year? Don’t forget to share your Top Ten Tuesday post with me!
