Weekend Cooking – Anniversary Brunch

Enjoy your month, Virgo friends!

Weekend Cooking is a weekly blog meme hosted by Beth Fish Reads. I haven’t done one of these in ages, but this weekend I made an anniversary brunch that I thought was worth sharing about. My girlfriend Emily and I will be celebrating 2 years together on Tuesday, but as she’s still working we decided to celebrate yesterday.

I made buttermilk biscuits the night before, so I didn’t have to wait on them and could have brunch done at a decent hour. They turned out a bit more crumbly than I would have liked, but had a really good color.

The sandwiches I made had butter one side and apricot jam on the other, as well as bacon and a fried egg.

The end result was pretty good! I whipped up some cream and cut up strawberries and made mimosas and coffee.

What do you like to cook for anniversaries? Don’t forget to share your Weekend Cooking post with me!

  1. I just bought strawberries and haven’t quite decided if we’ll just eat them as is or whether I’ll bake. We usually go out to eat for birthdays and anniversaries, but this year I’ll have to cook something special for my husband’s birthday. No restaurants are open.

    • I really want to buy strawberries! But I’m just not sure how to get them from the farms with the shelter-in-place still going on… I guess I should message them.
