Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. And today I’m changing up topics (again, I know. But recently the topics just haven’t been that interesting to me.) The suggested topic for today was about first lines in books but recently I was going through my TBR and decided I would share with you some of my most recent adds. Hope you enjoy!
1. Ecstasies by Carlo Gunzburg
This book sounded fascinating because Gunzburg goes through the witch trials across Europe, analyzing accounts from the times and looking for evidence of actual witches. I love history books so this seemed perfect for me!
2. Parenting Without God by Dan Arel
I was reminded earlier in the week that this book was on an amazon wishlist I had, so I checked it out on Goodreads and added it there. As a kind-of Wiccan, kind-of Agnostic with uber religious parents this book seems like something I’ll need eventually.
3. The Life And (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton
This story just looked like it would be a lot of fun to read, and I don’t know about you but I really need fun reads right now. ❤
4. The Mermaid, The Witch And The Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall
I’m not sure if this book will be any good, I have my doubts because it does sound a little cliche. But the cover is cool and the book is supposed to have some LGBT+ representation so I’m sure I’ll end up giving it a try soon.
5. Don’t Call The Wolf by Aeksandra Ross
I’m a sucker for a cool cover…What can I say? I have my doubts about this book but oh well.
6. Talk Tahi by Ira Sukrungruang
I read a short non-fiction piece by this author last week and really loved the style, so I decided to look up what else he’d written. This book sounds super interesting.
7. The Maiden Thief by Melissa Marr
Love dark fantasy so this book seemed like it was right up my alley.
8. Uses of the Erotic by Audre Lorde
I’ve been reading a lot of books by queer women recently, so of course its made me want to devour everything they’ve written. Lorde in particular was a favorite read of my (so far) this year.
9. Something To Talk About by Meryl Wilsner
Hollywood gays? Yaass please. I need to read this book asap.
10. Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein
I added this book recently because I’ve been really needing positive books in my life. I think we all probably do right now.
What have you recently added to your TBR? What books are you drawn too these days? Don’t forget to share your Top Ten Tuesday post with me!
