April 2021 Reading Wrap Up

It’s been a couple of months since the last time I wrote one of these posts, I can’t even remember exactly when it was, possibly February? But since moving to Kansas City I’ve been exploring my new library and reveling in their slightly different collection of books. I’m hoping that in May my reading numbers will go back up. Right now I’m about 10 books behind my reading goal for the year, but fingers-crossed that will change soon! So without further ado, here’s what I read in April.

1 Star: Mary Magdalene Revealed by Meggan Watterson

Possibly an odd reading choice for me, but I’ll have a review coming out soon that explains all.

2 Stars: Home Body by Rupi Kaur

You all probably already know my thoughts on this book, but if you don’t you can find my review here to find out why I gave it 2 stars.

3 Stars: Lord Brocktree & I’ll Be The One

Both really fun reads! It was so nostalgic to get back into the Redwall series, and I’m going to try and read them all again (this time chronologically!) And I also enjoyed getting back into a fun fluffy YA (that also has some great diversity!)

5 Stars: The Mushroom Fan Club by Elise Gravel

An adorable read that is a must own for me! I love mushrooms and I loved the artwork for this book. It gives handy tips for foraging and is also just a fun read.

What did you read this month? If you enjoyed my post please consider checking out my other reviews of books and film as well as my cooking posts under the tag “weekend cooking”. I write about queerness, polyamory and my normal life as well. You could also consider tipping me through Ko-Fi, which is basically the same as buying me a coffee! I also have a patreon that I am slowly putting life back into. Thank you for reading.
