Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Hope I Read In A Day

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s topic is about reading books in a day, I think the official post was “books I wish I had read in a day” but I wanted to change it slightly to talk about books I’m really excited to get my hands on. I didn’t quite make it to 10 but I’m 32 weeks pregnant and exhausted so the fact that I wrote this post at all is a win.

1, Authority by Jeff Vandermeer

I’m really excited to read the second book in Vandermeer’s trilogy. Annihilation was so mind blowing I’m hoping for a second stunner. Hopefully it doesn’t fall into sequel syndrome!

2. Dawn of the Deed by John A. Long

For the life of me I can’t remember how I heard of this book or if I just saw it somewhere, my brain has been so forgetful since getting pregnant. But anyway, this book sounds amazing! I love reading about the history of things, and could anything be more fun than a history of sex?

3. Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manasala

I love a good murder mystery and it’s been an age and a half since I read one, so I’ve got high hopes for this book!

4. The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

While I wait for the next book in his other series, I’ve decided to read Sanderson’s Mistborn series and I was just recently able to get this book from the library. I’m really excited to sit down with it sometime soon.

5. The Book of Eels by Patrick Scensson

I also really enjoy books about animals and wild life, so I decided to give this book a try. I remember a couple years back I read an amazing book about octopus and I’m hoping this book is just as good.

What books do you hope to read in a day? Or have read in a day recently? Don’t forget to leave a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post. 🙂

If you enjoyed my post please consider checking out some others! I review books, film, as well as have some cooking posts under the tag “weekend cooking”. I write about queerness, polyamory, pregnancy and my normal life as well. You could also consider tipping me through Ko-Fi, which is basically the same as buying me a coffee! I’m not able to have a baby shower but I do have a registry with amazonI have a patreon where I share exclusive poetic and writing content. Thank you for reading.
